Quest for first conference victory continues for young Pioneers

Carroll comes up short in double-overtime road loss to North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Carroll University women's soccer team lost to North Central College 1-0 in double overtime (including 90 minutes of regulation and two, 10-minute extra periods) in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Saturday evening.
It was the third consecutive conference road loss for Carroll, which was shutout for the fifth time this season to drop to 0-3-1 in the highly contested league standings and 5-5-2 overall.
Freshman midfielder Kily Egan scored the unassisted game-winning goal at the 107:26 mark for North Central, which improved to 3-1 in conference and 7-5-1 overall.
Junior goalkeeper Madison Lockard registered six saves in playing the entire 110 minutes for the Cardinals, who outshot Carroll 22-11, including a 7-6 shot-on-goal margin.
Freshman midfielder Lauren Victorin (Downers Grove, Ill.) generated two shots on goal for the Pioneers, who attempted four corner kicks in the spirited battle. Junior forward Brookelyn Campbell (Oconomowoc, Wis.), sophomore forward Erika Hess (Green Bay, Wis.), sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Zanon (Waukesha, Wis.) and sophomore midfielder Tara Bahr (Waukesha, Wis.) each followed with one attempt.
Senior goalkeeper Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) had six saves in playing the entire marathon for Carroll.
