Pioneers earn fourth shutout victory

Campbell scores winning goal in 88th minute in nonconference road win

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Junior forward Brookelyn Campbell (Oconomowoc, Wis.) scored off an assist from freshman midfielder/forward Simone Lippmann (Lindenhurst, Ill.) at the 87:31 mark to lead the Carroll University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over University of Northwestern in a nonconference game at Reynolds Field on Wednesday afternoon.
It was the fourth shutout victory of the season for Carroll, which snapped a frustrating three-game losing streak to improve to 6-5-2 overall.
The Pioneers outshot the Eagles 19-5, including a key 8-5 shot-on-goal advantage.
Senior goalkeeper Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) registered five saves to preserve a shutout. With the effort, O' Block recorded her sixth shutout of the season to become the program's all-time leader with 22 for her four-year career - breaking the prior mark of 21 established by former standout Ashley Reinke.
