ENGELWOOD, Fla. - Senior midfielder
Ariannah Ritter (Sun Prairie, Wis.) scored a season-high five goals as the Carroll University women's lacrosse team defeated Fitchburg State University 15-5 in in the opening round of the Spring Fling Games at Ann Dever Memorial Park on Monday morning.
It was the first game of the Florida spring break trip for Carroll, which improved to 2-1 overall on the early season.
The Pioneers scored seven unanswered goals in what proved to be a decisive first half.
Sophomore midfielder
Michaela Johnson (Mukwonago, Wis.) contributed three goals and an assist for Carroll, which outshot the Falcons 33-14 - including a dominant 24-12 shot-on-goal margin. Sophomore midfielder
Clara Jelacic (Waukesha, Wis.) followed with two goals, two assists, two draw controls and a ground ball.

Senior goalkeeper
Shelby Schoob (Sun Prairie, Wis.) registered seven saves in playing the entire 60 minutes for the Pioneers.
Fitchburg State dropped to 1-1 overall.
