MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to Monmouth College 10-3 in a nonconference game at Woll Field on Saturday afternoon.
It was the third consecutive loss of the early season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-3 overall.
The Pioneers were outscored by a 5-0 margin in the first half, including two goals in what proved to be a decisive second quarter.
Carroll answered with three goals in the third quarter but couldn't complete the comeback.
Junior attackman
Jeff Schultz (Franklin, Wis.), sophomore midfielder
Michael Peters (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore attackman
Airik Ranjo (San Diego, Calif.) each scored an unassisted goal in the third quarter for the Pioneers.
Freshman goalkeeper
Tomas Atella (Crystal Lake, Ill.) registered 20 saves in playing the entire 60 minutes.
Monmouth outshot Carroll 52-15 - maintaining a 30-7 shot-on-goal advantage.
