(BELOIT, WIS.) The Pioneer track team once again dominated at the Private College Championships, hosted by Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin. The men placed first overall, and the women second, in a meet that solidifies the Pioneer program as one of the most dominant in the CCIW.
The men placed first overall with a final score of 233. Jake Bisco kicked off the event with a first overall finish in the 100 meter dash, netting a time of 11.23 and 10 points for the Pioneers. Aaron Kurth also placed first overall in the 200 meter. And of course, Grant Marton continued his domination with a first place overall finish in the 800 meter. Kyle Adams also placed first overall in the steeplechase, and David Burgess placed first overall in the high jump. Burgess was not done, however, as he also placed first overall in the triple jump at the event. Steven Hermsen placed first in the shot put, and, to top it all off, Ian Davies placed first overall in the hammer throw with a distance of 42.55 meters. With each passing meet, the Pioneer men have more and more first place finishes, and there is no sign of them slowing down any time soon.
The women placed second overall in the event. In the 3000 steeplechase, Jenna Berlet and Megan Reese placed first and second overall, respectively, with times of 12:00.84 and 12:13.90. In the women's high jump, indoor national qualifier Sarah Gomez once again impressed, placing first overall in the event with a height of 1.60 meters. Morgan Davister placed first overall in the shot put, and Emily Uitenbroek once again placed first overall in the hammer throw. Emily shattered her own school record yet again with a distance of 52.81 meters, a mark that places her at fourth overall in the nation in this event. The Pioneer women have been equally impressive as of late, and the Pioneers have a chance to dominate the rest of the outdoor season.
