Waukesha, Wis.-- The Carroll University men's soccer team jumped out to a lead in the first half, but eventually fell to Dubuque in the second half.
Freshman Jack Daly found the back of the net on a long pass from Ryan Coughlin in the 30
th minute. The men would go on to hold Dubuque for the remainder of the first half.
But Dubuque came back out strong, winning three corner kicks in a row, eventually ending Carroll's lead at the 65
th minute mark. The tie was broken on a free kick from 10 feet outside the box at the 77
th minute. Tyler Hanson's four saves on the evening weren't enough to stop Dubuque's offensive attack.
Four Pioneers had shots on goals, Daly, Shea Connell, Teegan Van Gheem, and Freshman Venanzio Weeks all had one a piece. Overall, Dubuque out shot the Pios 13-10.
The men will remain in Iowa and travel to Ceader Rapids for Sunday showdown against Coe at 1 PM.
