Pioneers win third straight

Carroll's 4-2 record marks best start after its first six games since 2009

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior defender Issey Valadez (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored what proved to be the winning goal off an assist from senior striker Shea Connell (Alfaz Del Pi, Spain) at the 14:29 mark as the Carroll University men's soccer team defeated Concordia University Chicago 5-0 in a nonconference game at Schneider Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It was the third consecutive home-field victory and equaled a season-high single-game goal total for Carroll, which recorded its second shutout of the season and improved to 4-2 overall - the program's best record after six games since 2009.
The Pioneers, who scored three unanswered goals in the first half, outshot Concordia-Chicago 17-6 in the contest - including a 9-4 shot-on-goal advantage.
