Waukesha, Wis.—The Carroll University women's tennis team battled two non-conference opponents today. The Pioneers hosted Marian and UW-Stevens Point in at Four Lakes Athletic Center in Elkhorn, Wis. due to weather. The women did not lose a match all day, winning both contests 9-0. The last time the women won three straight matches with a score of 9-0 was in 2012-13.
In the first match of the day against Marian, the doubles pairings of

Ashley LaBelle got right back on track, winning their single set 8-2.

Clare Veranth also were able to defeat their competition 8-2. In singles, none of the Pioneers played to three sets. Head Coach Craig Mours played the typical Krueger (6-1, 6-2), LaBelle (6-2, 6-1),
Maya Gaedtke (6-3, 6-1), Merkatoris (6-1, 6-2), and
Rachel Papp (6-3, 6-3). Sophomore
Allison Krusa played in the sixth spot, winning her match 6-0, 6-0.
The Pioneers faced off against UW-SP to finish the day. The duo of Krueger/LaBelle and Merkatoris/Gaedtke faced tougher duals, but still remained unbeaten on the day with scores of 8-6 and 8-6, respectively. Papp/Bosman formed a pairing at the end of the day, and dominated 8-0. In singles, LaBelle dropped the only set of the day (7-5, 3-6), but made up for it by winning the tie breaker set 10-0. Krueger (6-0, 6-3), Gaedtke (6-1, 6-1), Merktoris (6-1, 6-1), Papp (6-3, 6-2) and Lora Leach (6-0, 6-0) all won in straight sets.
The Pioneers look to ride this hot streak back into conference play, starting next weekend against Augustana (Ill.) on Saturday, Oct. 5 and North Park on Sunday, Oct. 6 at home.
