Naperville, Ill.—The Carroll University women's tennis team was beaten by CCIW opponent North Central tonight by a score of 7-2.
 
In doubles, Maya Gaedtke continued her hot streak with teammate Carolyn Merkatoris and recorded the only doubles win of the evening with a score of 8-5. Ashley LaBelle and Grace Krueger fell 8-2, and Rachel Papp and Francesa Grimes were defeated 8-4.
 
In singles, Erika Bosman defeated her opponent in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) to record Carroll's second points on the evening. Junior Lora Leach took her match into a third set, only to be edged out (6-2, 3-6, 16-14). The rest of the women fought hard, but eventually Krueger (7-5, 6-3), LaBelle (6-2, 7-5), Merkatoris (6-4, 6-0) and Gaedtke (6-4, 6-3) fell against their competition.
 
The women look for redemption this weekend as they travel to Wheaton (Ill.) Saturday, September 7th for another CCIW matchup.
