Clermont, Fla. – The Carroll University Pioneers picked up win number eight on the season after defeating Emmanuel, 3-0. Amanda Osterhus collected win number five on the season after pitching 6 shutout innings, surrendering only two hits. Mathena Higgins walked twice today, including once for an RBI.
 
The Pioneers (8-1, 0-0 CCIW) faced a good Emmanuel team with a stellar freshman pitcher, but they exposed weak spots in their game, by staying patient at the plate. The Pios played great defense in the field, not allowing any errors to fall.
 
The first inning was the only inning of scores for either team. Madison Wagner reached on a fielder's choice, before five straight walks scored three straight runs. A strikeout ended the scoring.
 
Wagner reached second base on a double, and Lyndsey Rost came in to pitch run and advanced to third. The Pioneers had another chance to score but couldn't get Rost home in the bottom of the fifth.
 
The top of the seventh was Breanna Roberts' time to shine, retiring the side to collect her first career save.
