Peyton Frost registered a team-high 16 kills as the Carroll University women's volleyball team defeated Illinois College 25-12, 21-25, 13-25, 25-23, 15-8 in a thrilling five-set nonconference dual meet at Van Male Field House on Friday night.
It was the second five-set victory of the season for Carroll, which improved to 4-13 overall.
Cathleen Flannery followed with 14 kills, 15 digs and four service aces for the Pioneers, who generated 59 kills, 68 digs, 10 aces, nine blocks and 55 assists.
Carroll finished with double-digit kills in four of its five sets.
Katie Jensen had 13 kills and five blocks,
Ashley Konecki collected seven kills and five blocks,
Alianiz Rivera-Rosado had 16 digs and
Emily Schliesman added 52 assists.
The score remained tied 7-7 in the decisive fifth set but Carroll answered with an 8-1 run to seal a victory, capped on three consecutive kills by Frost.
