HANOVER PARK, Ill. - The sixth-seeded Carroll University women's tennis team lost to third-seeded Wheaton College 5-1 in the opening round of the College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin Championships at Centre Court Athletic Complex on Thursday afternoon.
Carroll's lone victory came at No. 1 doubles as Grace Krueger and Ashley LaBelle defeated Wheaton's Abygale Ahn and Audrey Vick by an 8-7 margin.
Wheaton won two of its three doubles matches and registered three straight-set victories in singles to advance to the next round.
Carroll dropped to 5-7 overall.
