WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's basketball team picked up their first home win of the 2021-22 season after defeating Lawrence University 77-45 inside Van Male Field House.

Katie Rohner, and
Natalie Palzkill all tied for a team-high 14 points, while
Elizabeth Behrndt scored 10.
Katie Evans pulled in a tied for career-high seven rebounds.
The Pioneers (4-0, 0-0 CCIW) start their season 4-0 for the first time since 2007. Carroll dominated Lawrence, making double the number of shots the Vikings made, as Carroll went on to shoot 48.4% from the field. Carroll dropped 50 points in the paint and scored 31 points off 32 Lawrence turnovers. The Carroll defense came away with a season-high 16 steals including six from
Olivia Rangel, and seven blocked shots including five from
Allison Thompson.
Carroll jumped out to a hot start in the first quarter, striking a 19-4 run through the quarter, led by Rangel's six points. Rohner started the second quarter off hot, starting with an and-one three-point play, and knocking down a three-point jumper from the top of the key to give Carroll a 25-4 lead with 8:40 left in the first half. The Vikings cut the lead to 14 with 4:56 left in the second quarter, but three straight baskets off turnovers gave Carroll their 20-point lead back.
Carroll came back from halftime with a 38-16 lead and extended the score differential to 24 points after a Foster driving layup. Lawrence tried to stick around, scoring 14 points in the second half, but it was too little too late, as Carroll stepped on the gas in the fourth quarter, scoring a game-high 24 points on 71.4% shooting.
The Pioneers host top-25 ranked UW-Whitewater on Tuesday, November 23 inside Van Male Field House. Carroll is 0-4 in the last four meetings with the Warhawks.
