Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in another virtual meet on Saturday. Both teams raced alongside North Central comparing times. The women defeated the Cardinals 175-51, and the men won 125-31.
For the women, they locked up 11 first-place finishes in the contest.
Emily Wong finished first in three separate events, the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.37), the 100-yard freestyle (58.83), and the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.47).
Madeline Nelson and
Lindsey Coons grabbed two first-place finishes of their own too. Nelson secured victories in the 400-yard IM (5:01.94) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.89). Coons dominated in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.46) and the 100-yard backstroke (59.63).
Amanda Klaeser (500-yard freestyle, 5:41.82),
Allison Kriegler (200-yard breaststroke, 2:43.56),
Kara Loy (50-yard free, 27.34), and
Jordan Andrews (200-yard freestyle, 2:06.75) all swam to first-place finishes in their respective events.
Six different Pioneer men grabbed first-place finishes in seven events.
Brennen McClay swam the fastest in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.59) and the 100-yard freestyle (51.41). Coming off a strong meet three weeks ago,
Thaddeus Scott won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:29.45.
Kentarrius Braxton (100-yard breaststroke, 1:11.70),
Damian Barkow (200-yard backstroke, 2:21.12),
David Gonzales Jr (200-yard breaststroke, 2:33.81), and
Augusto Ureta (100-yard freestyle, 1:02.35) grabbed a gold medal finish in their events as well.
