Kenosha, Wis. – The Carroll University men's basketball team traveled to Carthage College in Kenosha on Tuesday night and walked away with their third road win of the season by a score of 69-59.
Tarren Hall finished with 24 points and nine rebounds, the fourth time this season he has finished with over 20 points.
Justin Steinike records his first career double-double with a 17-point 10 rebound game.
The Pioneers (3-3) shot 50% from the floor and 40.9% from behind the arc (9-22 3PM). The Pios finished with more turnovers than Carthage but made up for it with 12 points and four steals. Carroll found their way to the paint and scored 30 of their 69 points inside. Carthage struggled to get back into their half-court defense, allowing Carroll to score 12 fast break points.

Tarren Hall cashed in on a fast break three-pointer to start the Pioneers' offense.
Justin Gruber (12 PTS, 3 AST) found the bottom of the net with a three-ball of his own to cut the Carthage lead to two.
Josh Hudgens (9 PTS, 4-8 FGM) gave the Pioneers the lead with 15:18 remaining in the first half. Steinike scored eight straight Pioneer points including a three-point play from a foul, and a three-pointer from behind the arc. Steinike gave the team a nine-point lead with 6:43 remaining in the half. Carthage cut the lead to three with 1:52 remaining, but Gruber scored off a Carthage turnover at the buzzer to go into halftime with a five-point advantage. Steinike scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half.
The Pios got right back to where they left off, making two three-pointers in the first four minutes of the second half. Hall took over with 11:58 remaining in the contest, scoring seven straight points and nine of Carroll's last 10, including a pull-up jump shot outside the paint to give the men a 14-point lead. Carthage cut the lead back all the way to two on a 12-0 run, but Hall returned with his own 8-2 scoring streak with 2:03 remaining. Steinike iced the game off a fast break driving layup with 35 seconds left up 12.
The Pioneers will face off against No. 5 Wheaton College on Thursday, Feb. 18 in Van Male Field House. The Pioneer men have split the series 4-4 the last five years with the Thunder, including 4-0 at home. Wheaton sits atop of the conference with a 7-0 record.
