New Berlin, Wis. – The Carroll University Tennis team handled business against conference opponent North Park on Sunday night at the Princeton Club in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Carroll won the match 8-1 over the Vikings to move to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the CCIW.
In doubles, it was a sweep for the three pairings.
Grace Krueger and
Madison Ostrander faced tough competition but prevailed 8-6.
Maya Gaedtke and
Lora Leach won a decisive match 8-4, and
Carolyn Merkatoris and
Rachel Papp handled their opponents 8-1.
In singles, Ostrander, who moved to the third seed tonight, won a battle with her opponent after a tie breaker (6-2, 2-6, 10-4). Krueger (6-0, 6-0), Leach (6-1, 6-1), Merkatoris (6-1, 6-0), and Papp (6-1, 6-1) won in straight sets easily. Gaedtke surrendered the only loss of the evening, dropping her first two seed match in the CCIW by a score of 3-6, 3-6.
Carroll has a week off before the next CCIW matchup against Elmhurst on Monday April 5. No start time has been announced as of yet.
