Women’s Tennis Begins Conference Tournament at Millikin

Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University women's tennis team is getting ready to begin its 2021 CCIW automatic qualifier tournament. The winner of the tournament will get the automatic bid for the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships.
 
The Pioneers come into the tournament a four seed, after finishing the regular season with a 4-4 conference record. The women won four straight matches before falling in the last two to finish .500 on the season.
 
The Pioneers are led by senior Grace Krueger, who finished 7-3 in the regular season in the one spot. Krueger's three losses this season have only come at the hands of conference opponents.
 
The Pioneers' first-round matchup comes against the Millikin Big Blue. The Pioneers last faced the Big Blue on March 20, falling in a heart breaker 4-5. Krueger, Maya Gaedtke, and Lora Leach all added singles wins, while the pairing of Krueger and Madison Ostrander picked up a doubles win. The Pioneers are 4-2 since the loss to Millikin.
 
The match against Millikin will take place in Decatur, Illinois with a 3:30 PM start time on Tuesday, April 27.
