BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to first-place Illinois Wesleyan 29-1 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game Friday afternoon.
It was the season finale for Carroll, which finished 0-6 in conference.
Danny McGee scored an unassisted goal in the second quarter for the Pioneers, who were outscored 21-1 in the first half.
Spencer Lautner contributed three ground balls and three caused turnovers for Carroll, which was outshot 81-10 (including a 54-7 shot-on-goal margin).
Zach Mehrtens had three ground balls and
Josh Kovach addded two ground balls and one caused turnover.
Abe Escarda, who was competing in his final game, registered 25 saves in playing the entire 60 minutes. Escarda finished his career as the program's all-time leader, recently eclipsing the 600-save milestone.
Nick Ceko and Ben Filo each scored four goals for Illinois Wesleyan, which remained atop the conference standings with a 6-0 record and improved to 11-1 overall.
