Men’s Golf Claims Hatchet for the First Time

Fond Du Lac, Wis. – The Carroll University men's golf team competed in its annual hatchet match with St. Norbert today at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond Du Lac, Wis. The Pioneers secured the match 3.5-0.5, and took home the coveted hatchet for the first time in program history. Carroll shot a season-low 304 vs the 317 of St. Norbert
 
Erik Hopp led the way with a first-place finish and a career-best 71 for -1 par. Hopp collected six birdies after starting the round with a double bogey. Devin Wilde finished with his career-low as well, carding a 75 and tying for second-place.
 
Adam Nuxoll finished with a season-low 78, after finishing even par on the front-nine. Michael Lueptow and Evan Bridges finished with an 80 and 81, respectively. Lueptow finished with a season-low as well.
 
Carroll quickly returns to the course tomorrow at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. at Highland Springs Golf Course.
