Women’s Soccer Loses First Game at UW-Oshkosh

The Pios were shut out on the road for the first time this season

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Carroll University women's soccer team fell on the road by a score of 0-2 to the UW-Oshkosh Titans on Saturday afternoon. Elizabeth Weinberg led the Pios with four shots.
 
The Pioneers (5-1-1, 0-0 CCIW) fall for the first time this season. Carroll was outbshot by 17-10 against UW-O, and was out-saved 6-5 as well. Carroll had six shot on goal attempts that all had chances, but nothing was able to get past the Titan keeper.
 
Oshkosh's first score was on a rebounded blocked shot from a Carroll defender, and scoring to the left corner from 22 yards out. Weinberg was able to get a shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the Titans recorded the third save of the first half.
 
A Carroll offside led to the second Titan goal in the 56th minute. Carroll had two shot opportunities in the 68th minute, but the a save and a block kept the ball in play.  Aly Scoma had a shot on goal in the final minute but was unable to capitalize.
 
The Pioneers will return quickly to Schneider Stadium to host Finlandia on Sunday, September 19 for their senior day celebration.
