NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Carroll University men's indoor track and field team finished in sixth place after tough competition at the 2022 Heenan Invite hosted by North Central. Steven Hermsen re-set his Carroll shot put school record while securing victories in the shot put and weight throw.

In track events, Kevin Lind finished second overall in the men's 60-meter dash, collecting eight points for the Pioneers. Nathan Raatz finished inside the top ten and came away with two points for the Pios after a finish in the 400-meter race. In the men's 3000-meter, Charles Quast finished top-five with a time of 8:57.72. Peter Marra picked up a top eight finish with a speedy 9.02 finish in the 60-meter hurdles.

In field and throwing events, David Burgess finished in third place in the men's triple jump, with a distance of 13.94-meters. Burgess also competed in the long jump, where he just missed earning points for Carroll. Hermsen re-broke his record on his final throw of the day, to snap the 16 meter mark, and to move him up in the national rankings. Hermsen and James Hinkley finished first and second, respectively in the weight throw, earning 18 points for the Pioneers.

Carroll has one more meet before the CCIW Championships, and that is the Titan Challenge hosted by UW-Oshkosh next week Saturday.
