OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Carroll University men's indoor track and field team competed in a highly contested UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge at the Kolf Sports Center on Saturday afternoon. Carroll finished in 6th place with 22 team points.
Steven Hermsen won the weight throw event while breaking his school record.
In track events,
Zach Benes finished in third place in the 800-meter race with a time of 1:57.13, gaining six team points.
Kevin Lind and
Nathan Raatz finished in the top ten in the 60-meter dash and the 400-meter race, respectively.
In field and throwing events, Lind grabbed another top-ten finish in the triple jump, competing in the second heat. Hermsen won the weight throw event with a throw of 19.04 meters. Hermsen's 19-meter throw puts him fourth in the nation overall. Jimmy Hinkley finished outside the top eight for points in the weight. Hermsen and
Max Campbell earned six points for Carroll with a fourth and eighth place finish in the shot put.
Carroll's next meet will be the 2022 CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Carthage College in Kenosha.
