KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carroll University men's track and field team put up 14 points on the opening day of the 2022 CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Pioneers were paced by a second-place finish from
Steven Hermsen.
In the men's weight throw, Hermsen finished with a throw of 18.36 meters, just eight centimeters away from first-place. Jimmy Hinkley finished close behind with a fourth-place finish and a 16.93-meter throw. Both Pioneers finished with all-conference honors.
The men's DMR team comprised of
Riley McDade,
Logan Froseth,
Caleb Jacques-Hembree, and
Austin Sanderfoot earned one-point with an eight-place finish.
Charles Quast finished just outside of the top-eight and all-conference recognition, with a ninth place finish in the 5000-meter run.
The 55-meter dash begins tomorrow at 11:15 AM, while men's triple jump kicks off at noon.
