KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's track and field team put up over 30 points on the opening day of the 2022 CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Pioneers were paced by a second-place finish and a record-breaking performance.
In the early morning pentathlon,
Mary Quinn re-broke her Carroll school record in with a finish of 2826 points and third overall. Quinn finished in the top five of three of the five events, including a second-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles and a third place in the high jump. Abigail Alberts finished in 12
th place after PR'ing in the shot put and a first-place victory.
Elizabeth Reddeman claimed all-conference honors in the 5000-meter race with a second-place finish.
Alison Klostermann finished outside of points with a tenth-place run.
Jessica Mueller hit a PR with a 3.42-meter pole vault and picked up all-conference recognition with a tied for a fourth-place finish.
The Pioneers sent four women to the weight throw final, and
Jamie Pankratz (3
rd),
Vanessa Uitenbroek (5
th), and
Cate Gudaitis (8
th) claimed all-conference titles in the event. Freshman
Maria Falk finished in ninth place in the finals.
The 55-meter qualifying round begins tomorrow at 11:15 AM for track events, while the women's high jump begins at noon.
