WINSTON-SALEM, NC. – Steven Hermsen of Carroll University men's indoor track and field competed in the shot put event at the 2022 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field National Championships. It is the first time a Carroll male student-athlete has competed in the shot put at nationals.
 
Hermsen recorded three fouls in the second heat of competition, failing to make finals.
 
Earlier at the meet, Hermsen was named All-American in the weight throw, and was awarded the NCAA Elite 90 Award.
