HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Carroll University women's tennis team lost to University of Lynchburg 6-3 in a nonconference dual meet Tuesday.
It was the second dual of a challenging three-match Spring Break road trip for Carroll, which dropped to 5-9 overall.
Ashley LaBelle won in straight sets at No. 2 singles to lead the Pioneers, defeating Lauren Pascadlo 6-2, 6-3.
LaBelle, a junior from Mukwonago, Wis., won her second consecutive match of the road trip and improved her individual record to 7-7 in dual competition and 8-8 overall.
Kaitlin Brandl, a sophomore from Nashotah, Wis., followed with a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles by defeating Mimi Oliver 6-2, 6-0.
It was also Brandl's second victory of the challenging road trip.
Carroll's final victory came as
Rachel Papp won in straight sets at No. 6 singles, defeating Emma Pinola 6-4, 6-1.
Papp, a junior from Oak Creek, improved to 3-7 in duals and 5-9 overall.
The Pioneers are scheduled to face Greenville University in a nonconference dual Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. (EST)
