Carroll women dominate in nonconference victory

Pioneers earn third dual sweep of the season in victory over MSOE

NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Carroll University women's tennis team defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 9-0 in a nonconference dual meet at the Princeton Club on Saturday afternoon.
It was the third sweep of the season for Carroll, which snapped a string of four straight losses to improve to 6-9 overall.
Grace Krueger, a graduate student from Geneva, Ill., responded with a 6-1, 6-0 straight-set victory at No. 1 singles to lead the Pioneers and improve her individual record to 2-6 overall.
Ashley LaBelle, a junior from Mukwonago, Wis., followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, improving to 8-7 in duals and 9-8 overall.
Sophia Dekker, a freshman from Franklin, Wis., contributed a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles, improving to 7-4 overall.
Madison Ostrander at No. 4, Kaitlin Brandl at No. 5 and Rachel Papp at No. 6 each added a victory for the Pioneers.
Krueger teamed up with LaBelle for an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, Dekker and Ostrander won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and the No. 3 duo of Brandl and Papp added an 8-2 victory to complete the dominant performance.
