WHITEWATER, Wis. – Mary Quinn of Carroll University women's outdoor track and field set a new school record in the women's outdoor heptathlon at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invite on Friday and Saturday. Quinn finished in second place with a score of 3,660. Abby Alberts also competed for the Pios, finishing eighth with a 2,664 score.
 
Quinn, who broke a record last set in 2019, won three of the seven events and placed top-five in all of them. Quinn raced to a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.19. In the high jump, Quinn was the lone jumper to reach 1.48 meters. Quinn won the javelin event by .41 meters, as her and Alberts were the only two throwers to surpass 26 meters. Quinn gained a second-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 9.08 meters.
 
Alberts won the shot put with a throw of 9.56 meters. Alberts tied for fourth with a high jump of 1.42 meters, and was sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.40 meters.
