AURORA, Ill. - The Carroll University men's tennis team continued its season by playing back-to-back dual meets on the road Sunday, falling to high-powered North Central College 9-0 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin matchup at the Rush Copley Healthplex to begin the day and losing to McHenry County College (in Crystal Lake, Ill.) 4-2 in a nonconference showdown.
Carroll, competing with a short-handed lineup, dropped to 0-6 in conference and 1-13 overall.
It was the seventh consecutive conference victory for North Central, which remained undefeated in league duals with a 7-0 record and improved to 21-2 overall.
The Cardinals, who will enter the upcoming CCIW Tournament as the No. 1 seed, captured their 11th straight CCIW dual victory dating back to last year.
Carroll's most competitive matches came as the No. 1 doubles team of
Luke Barter and
Ian Hofland, and the No. 2 tandem of
Jack McCaffery and
Ben Pierson, each lost 8-2.
