GENEVA, Ohio –Vanessa Uitenbroek and Cate Gudaitis of Carroll University women's track and field earned All-American honors in the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship discus event. Uitenbroek finished in second place while Gudaitis came in sixth.
 
Uitenbroek, a sophomore from Kaukauna, Wisconsin, finished with a throw of 47.03 meters. Uitenbroek, who started in the second flight, hit the mark on her second throw of prelims to coast into the finals. In the finals,  Uitenbroek finished with two marks over 45 meters.
 
Gudaitis, a senior from Arlington Heights, Illinois, came in sixth with a distance of 44.40 meters. On her first throw of the afternoon in the first flight, Gudaitis launched her disc to the All-American distance. Gudaitis secured a spot in the finals after winning her flight, and finished with two more throws over 40 meters in the finals.
 
Uitenbroek and Gudaitis are both first time All-Americans.
