GENEVA, Ohio -- Vanessa Uitenbroek of Carroll University women's track and field finished her 2022 outdoor season with a tenth-place finish in the shot put on Friday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. 

Uitenbroek opened with a distance of 13.82 meters to leap into first place. Uitenbroek's next throw was marked over the 14-meter line but was called for a foul despite a protest. Uitenbroek missed the finals by tying for ninth place, with the tiebreaker going to the thrower with the second-longest distance. 

Uitenbroek was the National Runner-up in the discus event on Thursday.
