GENEVA, Ohio – Emily Uitenbroek of Carroll University women's track and field won the hammer throw event at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships to claim her second-straight title in the event. Uitenbroek won with a throw of 57.12.
 
Uitenbroek, a graduate-student from Kaukauna, Wisconsin, went into the event as the fourth ranked thrower. In the prelims, Uitenbroek jumped into the lead with a throw of 55.24 meters. In the finals, Uitenbroek fell back to second momentarily, but secured her spot at the top on her fourth throw of 57.12 meters. Uitenbroek held off the lead with two more throws to win the event. Uitenbroek is now a three-time All-American in the hammer throw.

Also competing was senior Jamie Pankratz, who finished 10th with a throw of 50.69 meters on her second attempt.
