DECATUR, Ill. -- The Carroll University softball team ended their 2022 season with a elimination game loss to no. 4 seeded North Central on Saturday during the 2022 CCIW Softball Tournament. The Pioneers made it to game six of the tournament after defeating no. 5 Carthage 4-2 at 10 AM.
Game One. --The Pioneers rallied from down 2-1 in the fifth inning to defeat the Carthage Firebirds 4-2 Saturday.
Junior Grace Bradley (6-6) got the win for Carroll (20-14). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits, allowing two walks and striking out three.
At the plate, the Pioneers were led by senior Madison Wagner, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a triple and two RBI. Senior Kaylee Learman compiled a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a double. Junior Lauren Harshbarger also chipped in for Carroll, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
