Katie Jensen finished with a team-high 17 kills but the Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to Milwaukee School of Engineering 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11 in a five-set nonconference marathon at the Kern Center on Saturday night.
It was the first five-set loss of the season for Carroll, which lost its fifth consecutive dual and dropped to 4-7 overall.
Tied 9-9 in the fifth set, MSOE responded with a decisive 6-2 run to seal a hard-fought victory, capped on a kill by Emma Braun.
Grace Perret contributed 10 kills, 13 digs and three service aces for the Pioneers, who amassed 52 kills, 11 blocks, 51 assists, 81 digs and eight aces.
Kaitlin Gawelski followed with seven kills for Carroll, which generated 13 kills and only four errors with a .225 hitting percentage in claiming a second-set victory.
Rebekah Andreae had five blocks and
Maggie McGough collected 23 digs for the Pioneers.
Cora Riffle added 11 digs and 28 assists.
