Big First Half Lifts Carroll Past Lawrence

APPLETON, Wis. - Carroll's men's soccer team earned a non-conference win Wednesday night, defeating Lawrence University by a score of 3-1. The Pioneers also out-shot the Vikings by a 31-12 margin, with the Pios' recording 12 shots on goal.

The Pioneers (6-9-1) started the scoring in the 15th minute on Jackson Greear's first goal of the season, which was assisted by Marti Solanellas. Seven minutes later, Josh Gonzaga doubled that lead with his sixth of the year, assisted by Zane Walters. Carroll would add one more first half goal for good measure, as Jack Daly got into the action with his first goal of the season in the 31st minute. Lawrence's lone goal of the contest came in the 66th minute off the foot of Leo Decorte.

Sam Kilsdonk played the entire game at Goal Keeper for the Pioneers, making four saves. His counterpart, Nason Lancina, also played all 90 minutes between the pipes, saving nine shots for the Vikings.

Carroll will now return to conference action as the season winds down. They will travel to Augustana College on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. game in Rock Island, Ill.
