Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Draws 0-0 at Augie

Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University women's soccer team tied 0-0 with CCIW opponent Augustana today. The Pioneers are now in 4th place in the CCIW standings. Junior Grace Tumilty led the way for the Pioneers with five shots, three of which were on target; followed by three other Pioneers taking three shots of their own.

The Pioneers (8-5-3) shot the ball 21 times in comparison to just one shot taken by the Vikings. The Pios were able to get 12 of their shots on target forcing 12 saves by Augustana. Carroll was able to win seven corner kicks and draw eight fouls throughout the game.

Starting the game off strong, Carroll would take five shots in the first 12 minutes of play, forcing two early saves to keep the Vikings honest. This would be the story of the first half as Carroll would take 11 shots, while not giving up a single shot in the first half. The aggressive first half of the Pioneers proved not to be enough as the game went into the half tied 0-0.

Coming out of the half, Augustana would attempt to strike first as they would fire a shot off in the first three minutes of the half. The shot would force the only save of the game for Caitlin Fitzsimons. Carroll would respond by taking five quick shots in the next ten minutes, but they once again were unsuccessful finding the back of the net. Carroll's Jo Ueland would look for one fine attempt on goal in the 87' minute of the game, but it would ultimately be saved. This would end the game in a 0-0 draw.

The Pioneers are back on the road for their final regular season CCIW game against North Park. The game will take play on Wednesday, October 25th, at 7 PM in Chicago, Ill.
