Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer End Regular Season With 3-0 Victory

Chicago, Ill. – The Carroll University women's soccer team secured a 3-0 victory over North Park in the final regular season game of the year. Elli Pease, Brielle Ingalsbee and Marissa Polan were all able to find the back of the net in the contest.

The Pioneers (9-5-3) took 10 shots throughout the game. Five of which were on target, forcing two saves by the Vikings goalkeeper. Carroll was able to win four corner kicks and draw nine fouls throughout the game.

Carroll came into the game struggling to find the back of the net, as the team had not scored more than one goal in a game since the start of CCIW conference play against Millikin. That would all change tonight as the two teams started the game looking for opportunities. North Park would take the first shot in the 17' minute mark of the game. The Pioneers would answer with two shots from Carmella Nowak. Continuing in a back-and-forth matchup, Ingalsbee would get the Pioneers going in the 30' minute mark as she was able to find the back of the net off a Grace Tumilty assist. This would give the Pioneers the momentum they needed as they turned up the intensity. Just before the half, Polan would score her first goal of the season off Tumilty's second assist of the game. This would give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead going into the half.

Coming out of the half, Carroll didn't let as they fired off two more shots in the opening six minutes of the half. The Vikings would look for opportunities to bounce back, but the strong defense of the Pioneers would not give them many chances. The second half would go back and forth with neither team finding the back of the net. In the 88' minute of the game Pease would secure the game for Carroll as she scored the final goal of the game off an assist from senior Kenzie Blau. Allowing the Pioneers to walk away with a 3-0 victory.

The Pioneers are hosting the first round of the CCIW tournament for the second straight year on Saturday, October 28th. The game will take played at Schneider Stadium at 1:00 PM.
