Women's Soccer Set To Host Opening Round Of CCIW Tournament For Second Straight Year

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's soccer team is preparing for their appearance in the 2023 CCIW Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, starting with the quarterfinal match this Saturday, October 28 at 1 PM. Carroll will host a CCIW tournament game for its second straight year at Schneider Stadium with no. 6 seeded Illinois Wesleyan University in attendance.

The Pioneers capped off the regular season with a 9-5-3 record and a 4-1-3 record in the CCIW. Carroll played four top 25 teams throughout the season, including no. 1 ranked Wash-U. The Pioneers strong defense has allowed for senior goalkeeper Caitlin Fitzsimons to be ranked 18th in the Nation in shutouts through their 17 games.

Carroll's rematch against Illinois Wesleyan in the CCIW Tournament comes one year after the Titans got the best of Carroll in conference semi-finals last season. Earlier in the year the Pioneers beat Illinois Wesleyan 1-0 in 90 minutes at home on October 7. Brielle Ingalsbee score the only goal in the game.
