Pios struggle in nonconference dual

Carroll falls to high-powered UW-La Crosse

RACINE, Wis. - The Carroll University women's tennis team lost to high-powered University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 8-1 in a nonconference dual meet at LifeSport Tennis Club on Friday evening.
It was the second consecutive dual loss for Carroll, which continued its preparation for the upcoming College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin Tournament and dropped to 8-9 overall.
UW-La Crosse won its seventh straight to improve to 14-3 overall.
Ashley LaBelle, a senior from Mukwonago, Wis., earned a gritty three-set victory at No. 1 singles by outlasting UW-La Crosse's Kellie Hierl 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
LaBelle improved her individual record to 5-9 overall with the effort.
