NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Carroll University men's tennis team lost to traditional league powerhouse North Central College 9-0 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at the Princeton Club on Saturday.
It was the second consecutive conference dual loss for Carroll, which dropped to 0-2 in the league standings and 9-5 overall.
The Pioneers have not won a conference dual since 2018 when they tied for second place in league with a 5-2 record.
North Central, which earned a share of the regular-season league-dual championship and won the CCIW Tournament title last year, improved to 3-0 in the conference standings with the dominant road performance.
The Cardinals have a combined 16-1 conference dual record dating back to 2021.
Luke Barter, a senior from Buffalo Grove, Ill., came up short in a competitive match at No. 5 singles, falling to North Central's Matt Crossland 7-6 (1), 6-2.
Barter's individual record dropped to 7-7 in duals and 8-8 overall.
