WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University men's tennis team swept Elmhurst University 9-0 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at the Jean Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
It was the first conference dual victory of the season for Carroll, which improved to 1-5 in the league standings and 10-8 overall with the confidence-building performance.
The dominant home-court effort took on added significance as it was the Pioneers' first conference victory since 2018.
Carroll was powered by five straight-set victories in the singles flight.
Andrew LaBelle, a freshman from Mukwonago, Wis., defeated Elmhurst's Ben Cavka at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-4.
It was the second consecutive individual conference victory for LaBelle, who improved to 11-7 in dual competition and 12-8 overall.
Ryan LaBelle (No. 2),
David Eman (No. 3),
Jack McCaffery (No. 4) and
Luke Barter (No. 5) each added a straight-set victory for the Pioneers.
The LaBelle brothers combined for a victory at No. 1 doubles (8-4) with McCaffrey and Eman winning at No. 2 (8-2).
