WAUKESHA, Wis. – Director of Athletics Mike Schulist has announced that Sam Gobert, Carroll's Director of Athletic Communications, has submitted his resignation from the University. Gobert's last days at Carroll will fall after the 2023 NCAA Track and Field National Championships.
"Sam has helped elevate Carroll athletics through this relentless work ethic and drive to support our student-athletes," says Schulist. "We are grateful to Sam and wish him the best in his future endeavors"
"I would like to thank Michael Schulist for the opportunity to lead the communications department for the last four years," says Gobert. "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time working with coaches, student-athletes, and the rest of campus to support the Carroll Athletics' brand. I'm grateful that Carroll was a huge part of my life, and I'll always continue to support our Pioneers!"
Gobert joined the staff in 2019 as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant, but quickly took over full-time duties after Schulist's move to Director of Athletics. Gobert oversaw media relations and internal/external communications with campus and intercollegiate staff and began his tenure rebranding and enhancing Carroll Athletics' social media and web content. Gobert served on the administration team in athletics and on numerous committees including the PIOS Award Ceremonies, the Carroll Athletics Hall of Fame, and the Annual Pioneer Golf Classic.
The Director of Athletic Communications position has been posted and is accepting applications now.
