WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University is proud to announce the hiring of Michael Westemeier as the Pioneers' Director of Athletic Communications, where he will be in charge of publicizing 23 NCAA Division-III intercollegiate sports. Westemeier comes to Carroll after a one-year stint at Midwest Conference school Beloit College. Prior to that, he served in a similar role for 16 years at Ripon College, who is also a member of the MWC.

He brings a wealth of knowledge from his past experiences in athletic communications that will be a big asset to our department," Carroll Athletic Director Mike Schulist said. "He has a passion to share student-athlete success stories that will help elevate our brand within the community and across the country."
As part of his duties, Westemeier will help operate the statistical program for all sports, while also controlling all webcast operations and updating and maintaining Carroll's athletics website. In addition to that, Westemeier will be in charge of Carroll's athletics social media channels, while also supervising a staff of student-workers.
A native of Galena, Ill., Westemeier is a 2003 graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, where he earned his B.A. in communications. He then went on to earn his MBA in 2006 from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. While at St. Ambrose, Westemeier served as the Graduate Assistant for Sports Information for the Fighting Bees, where he received his first exposure to the Sports Information/Athletic Communications industry.
