Waukesha, Wis. -- Carroll University women's soccer lost 3-1 against Simpson College. The first home lost for the Pioneers in the 2023 season. Ally Scoma was the only Pioneer to find the back of the net on the day.

The Pioneers (2-3) took 13 shots on the day, with four of them being on target. Carroll was able to take six seven corners, while holding 61 percent of the possession throughout the game. 63 percent of that time in the attacking half of the field. Despite the statics, the Storm were more efficient with their possession of the ball. Senior, Caitlin Fitzsimons faced just nine shots on the day, having three saves throughout the game. Scoma led the way for the group with five shots, one was on target.  

Carroll found themselves in a back-and-forth battle with Simpson as each team was getting good looks on goal. In the 39' minute the Storm were able to capitalize on a corner kick, and Carroll found themselves down 0-1 going into the half. Out of the half the Storm found some momentum and scored two more quick goals in the opening eight minutes of the half. Carroll, being down 0-3, wouldn't give up as they took three shots of their own in just minutes conceding two. Finally, in the 79' minute Jo Ueland for Scoma who capitalized to make it 1-3, ending a two-game score drought for the Pios. Unfortunately, it was too little too late for the Pios, as they would ultimately fall 1-3 to Simpson.

Carroll is back at Schneider Stadium on Wednesday, September 13^th, against Loras College. Kickoff begins at 4:30, as Carroll looks to make their home record 3-1 on the year.
