Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Carroll Wins Big On Senior Night

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's men's soccer team evened their season record at 4-4 Wednesday night with a convincing 6-0 win on Senior Night. The Pioneers tied a team record with 37 shots, which was originally set 21 years ago. Carroll also held a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks on the night.

Only one of the Pios' six goals came before halftime, with Zane Walters doing the honors in the 24th minute, thanks to an assist from Nico Hinten Llorens to break a scoreless tie.

Josh Gonzaga then doubled Carroll's lead 15 minutes into the second half on an assist from Walters, who would assist on another goal just 26 seconds later when Ijsbrand Konig found the back of the net. Those were the first two of five goals that the Pioneers would score in a 10-minute span, which was capped by goals from Koen De Wit, Timo Rousel, and Josh Gonzaga's second of the game.

Carroll's Goal Keeper Jason Brunger got the win, making one save in 84 minutes of action, while Sean Martinez finished off the combined shutout with on save in six minutes of work. Beloit played three players in goal, combining for six saves.

The Pioneers will try to use this momentum on Saturday when they'll travel to Millikin University for their first conference match of the season. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Decatur, Ill.
