RIPON, Wis. - After a month and a half hiatus, Carroll's men's swimming & diving team resumed their schedule Saturday afternoon at a double dual hosted by Ripon College. The Pioneers fell to former Midwest Conference intra-state rivals St. Norbert and Ripon by scores of 184-22 and 81-60, respectively.
Edward McConnaha highlighted Carroll's performances with a second-place finish in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:54.05. McConnaha also anchored the Pios' second-place finish in the 4x400 relay, while swimming the opening leg in Carroll's 200 medley relay, which finished in fourth place.
Augusto Ureta also had a good showing during the weekend, finishing third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:51.21.
David Gonzales Jr. also chipped in with a fourth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.43).
The Pioneers will have next weekend off, before resuming their schedule on Friday, February 2 in the Wisconsin Private College Championships. The two-day event will be hosted by Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
