INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's men's and women's swim teams opened their 2024 season Saturday afternoon, as they hosted the Carroll Double Dual against Lawrence and MSOE. The Pioneers' women's team picked up a pair of victories, defeating MSOE 135-61 and Lawrence 125-75. Carroll's men's team fell to both teams by scores of 150-50 and 94-77, respectively.
Reigning All-Conference performer
Josie Peterson was in mid-season form for the Pioneers, winning both the 200 freestyle (2:00.84) and 100 freestyle (55.11). She was also part of a first-place relay team in the 200 freestyle, teaming up with
Kendal Richard, Lexandria Ostopowicz, and
Erin Fixen to swim a time of 1:46.12.
Kelly Gordon also had an outstanding meet for Carroll, with a trio of top-two finishes. She won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:11.55, while placing second in both the 200 IM (2:30.04) and 100 butterfly (1:07.46).
Carigan Tabor finished right behind Gordon in the 1000 freestyle with a second-place time of 12:17.65, while also winning the 500 freestyle (5:56.91) and placing third in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.83). Fixen also gave the Pios an event win in the 100 butterfly, winning the event with a time of 1:04.65. Earning a pair of second-place finishes was
Chopper Ceshker, who did so in the 200 freestyle (2:15.60) and 500 freestyle (6:03.34), while Ostopowicz and
Kaya Martin placed second in the 50 freestyle (26.79) and 100 breaststroke (1:06.77), respectively.
The men's competition was highlighted by Eddie McConnaha, who won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:46.73. He also teamed up with
Gavin Buechel,
Dylan Klang, and
Jacob Rossi to finish second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.49), which was less than two seconds shy of the winning time. Klang added a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle (24.31), while Rossi placed third in the 500 (5:23.74).
Carroll will be in action again on October 26 when they'll host UW-Oshkosh. That game will begin at 11 a.m. at Van Male Natatorium in Waukesha.
