CHICAGO, Ill. - Carroll women's soccer team made the trip down to Chicago, IL on Saturday afternoon to take on CCIW-foe North Park. Carroll found themselves in the W column for the sixth-straight time, defeating the Vikings 3-0 to remain perfect in conference play. Six consecutive victories is the longest such streak since the 2016 season, which ended at six.
Carroll (7-4-2, 5-0 CCIW) took 18 shots to North Park's (5-8-1, 1-3-1 CCIW) 7, with an eight to two advantage in shots on goal.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half, as Carroll doubled up the Vikings shot attempts, but went into the locker room with donuts on the scoreboard. Graduate seniot Jo Ueland had plans to change that, as her first goal of the season came in the 50th minute off a double-assist from Mari Sagstad and Brielle Ingalsbee. Less than five minutes later, Kenzie Blau kneed in a Grace Tumilty free kick for her third goal of the season. Blau earned another point in the 69th minute as Ellie Pease tallied her third goal of the season by tapping in a 39 yard free kick from the graduate senior.
Between the pipes, Caitlin Fitzsimons delivered the 21st shutout of her career, which ties the all-time record for a Pioneer goalkeeper. The graduate senior draws a tie with Christina O'Block, who wore the navy and orange from 2016-2019.
Carroll looks to continue their record streak on Wednesday, October 23 as they host Wheaton College (IL), who currently sits third in the CCIW ranks. With victory, Carroll would clinch a top-2 seed in the postseason conference tournament. Kickoff of the game will be at 7 p.m. from the friendly confines of Schneider Stadium.
