CHICAGO, Ill. - Carroll's men's and women's swim teams traveled to Illinois Tech in a single dual, with both teams falling to the Scarlet Hawks. Carroll's women fell by a close margin, losing by a score of 102-93, while Carroll's men's team fell 144.5-42.5.
The women kicked the meet off with 200 Medley Relay. The team of Kendal Richard, Kaya Martin, Grace Nelson, and Alexandria Ostopowicz posted a second place finish with a time of 2:11.28. Richard also claimed second place in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 59.75. Erin Fixen won the 1650 Freestyle, with a time of 20:04.06. Fixen also placed second in the 200 Freestyle and concluded her strong meet as the lead leg in the first place 200 Freestyle Relay. Sophomore Kelly Gordon claimed the victory in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 5:08.21, while senior Anna Clare Miller earned four points in the 100 Butterfly. Reigning All-Conference performer Josie Peterson won the 500 freestyle (5:34.36), served as the anchor leg of the first-place 200 Freestyle Relay, and took second in the 100 Breaststroke.
The men's competition was highlighted by Eli Griggs-LeRoux, who was the anchor leg of the Men's 200 Medley Relay, finished the 50 Freestyle in 25.18, and swam the lead leg of the 200 Freestyle relay and posted a time of 25.09. Senior Cole Faust also swam the 1650 Freestyle in 21:27.06.
Carroll returns to the Van Male Natatorium next Saturday where they will host Lake Forest College in a nonconference dual.
