NEW BERLIN, Wis. - Carroll's women's tennis team played their first match of their 'spring' season Friday night, losing to Roosevelt University by a score of 8-1.
The Pioneers' only team point came at the number two doubles flight, where
Maya Gaedtke and
Gracie Niebler teamed up to defeat Roosevelt's Teodora Petrica and Alyssa Owens by a narrow score of 8-7 (7-5). Roosevelt won the other two doubles matches by identical 8-2 scores.
Roosevelt also won all six doubles matches, with the most closely contested coming at the number six flight, where Carroll's
Erin Horzewski lost by a score of 6-2, 5-7, 0-1 (3-10).
